You aren’t alone… Every year thousands descend into the Forest City for weekend long hockey tournaments, many hosted at the Western Fair Arena. For many families it’s a weekend away, some time to have fun with others with a little hockey in between

For those new to the city, navigating London’s downtown core can be a challenge. We try to help you visualize your surrounding before you arrive!

About The Western Fair Arena
The Western Fair Sports Centre is a huge complex. It offers 3 NHL sized hockey rinks, with 1 Olympic sized rink. The arena and overall structure is handicap accessible, has a pro shop on-site and restaurant and bar nestled between the rinks. There is tons of space for viewing games, with a heated area upstairs and viewing below alongside the dressing rooms. Lastly, addition standing room is available inside the rink areas. The Olympic sized rink offers true big league experience with 1,500 seats giving you that big rink feel!
Western Fair Arena Hotels
You have plenty of hotel options in London if you’re tournament is at the Western Fair. You’re 5 minutes down York St from the London Hilton and Delta Armouries. They offer rates typically between $120 and $150 and offer the easiest access to the area. If you are looking for a little more fun and tropical feel, you can really amp up your weekend and stay at the best western lamplighter. Best Western ha s a huge indoor pool, waterslide and bar area with a tropical climate controlled backdrop. Rates are similar to the Hilton and Delta Armouries, averaging around $150. The Best Western is approximately 15 minutes from the Western Fair Sports Centre.
Restaurants Around The Western Fair
Within 10 minutes of the Western fair Sports Centre are some of London Ontario’s finest dining options. Richmond St, or “Richmond Row” provides some memorable and unique eateries. Many of which are locally owned each with their own brand or theme. Here is a listing of restaurants on “Richmond Row” that are worth checking out! If you plan on trying them out, call first for a reservation!

Additionally, fast food options are readily available too with a Tim Horton’s one block north of the arena on Rectory St, and a number of other options located on Highbury Avenue including Wendy’s, McDonald’s and others!
Getting to the Western Fair Arena
Is easy! If you’re coming from the 401, take the Highbury Avenue exit north to Florence St. Turn left and follow it all the way to the Western Fair Sports Center.
